I think another benefit we can get from this site is not only to find friends, pen pals, and love but also someone who can be our partner and inspiration in our weight loss goals. Perhaps someone to help us stay motivated and inspired.
So, is anyone here working on a weight loss goal ? Or does anyone have motivational feedback to share in relation to their own weight struggles and accomplishments ?

You're welcome... I hope it helps... though I have to say that I made a lot of progress last year without daily tracking too. I just did what I knew I was supposed to do, and it kept me from feeling like I was dieting... just a thought. I guess it's best to change strategies once in a while, to keep the monotany at bay.
Well that's really interesting, I only made progress because of daily tracking.

Despite all the advise that you should not weight yourself every day, this was what worked for me.
Now i had to keep myself real, that knowing that the scales would fluctuate, but kept looking at the overall picture.
It has only been recent months where I have stopped daily tracking, that the weight is starting to return.
Guess what works for one does not work for all. less...

Like Amuse, I cut back on carbs. Works wonders, even just cutting back a little at a time in order to change. I tend to modify my eating habits here and there, not usually with any particular goal in mind other than becoming healthier. I watch the scale but don't give myself a number goal to reach, I find it limiting, especially if I don't achieve it. So, being healthy is what my goal is, well, more healthy...still like my Sonic Cherry Lime Slushies...LOL
Yes the hard part is to keep it off. When I lost the weight I wasn't working and lots of time to excerise and plan meals.
Now with managing ...

Now with managing 3 kids, full time job, home based business, getting to know someone new and getting on here all the time, well it does not leave much time for even sleep, not to say exercise. LOL
The lap band is not an end all solution, but perhaps an aide that may help me. So unless I win the lottery or marry a rich man and don't have to work, I think that the option of getting the lap band is still looking rather tempting.
Again thanks for the tips and your spreadsheet, though I could not open it, I think my version of excel is too old :(

Tell me about it. Over my life time I have lost my body weight 4 or 5 times! I don't expect to be skinny but I would like to get to a size that is easier to find in stores and that is more comfortable to live with. I opened my profile back up so you can email the spreadsheet to me. Thanks!!
It's a lot easier to lose it than it is to keep it off! lol

Here in OZ qualify to have a lap band if your BMI is over 35, call it obeses, and I well and truly qualify.
Its really scary for me, as in the last 6 months have now put on about 9 back on, scared that I will go back to where I was.
Have to say you have done great losing 100, well done, but you are about the same size as me? I cant see your pics now, but would not have thought there was much difference.

I thought that, In my blogs.I had made clear that the Decision(for me) to have the lap band was a long and hard one.I believe I also have said in other posts that it is a tool(aid) to help one loose weight. Along with caloric reduction, More strenuous exercise, Healthier eating and behavior modification , not the cure All that some think it is .It will involve rolling up own's sleeves and(working) sweating at it.
