I'm getting bored with the tunes on my ipod. Any suggestions for new ones that have a good beat and will make me want to get up and shake it?

You really should give the Bedouin Soundclash songs (especially Walls Fall Down) a chance. They've got a good rhythm. You should be able to find all of these on YouTube. Otherwise, I'd be happy to share mine.

Oh yes the bands I mentioned are very much 21st century, lol, there are some great new bands about and there's no way I could listen solely to golden oldies.

Nothing wrong with still enjoying some of the classics, but like Blue says, there's a big new musical world out there! (Good to see that Duffy is making it that side of the pond!) less...

Try some Cajun tunes, like Kevin Naquin.

If you've a taste for British pop/rock (bands that write and perform their own stuff not manufactured pap!) three bands that spring to mind are The Feeling, Kaiser Chiefs and Scouting for Girls.

Shouldn't be too difficult to find online; I'm sure they have samples of their stuff on their own websites plus...

They are favourites of mine, don't know if they've hit your shores yet, but it really depends on your personal taste.

Manlow has some upbeat things. Even some of the great oldies from the 60 can get you jumping. ( I"m 59 and still stuck on the 60s music )

From time to time I clean the ipod and select specific songs from itunes. OH have you seen the really cute, tiny, portable speakers for your ipod? Lovely, I found them in Walmart one day just wandering around. :-)

Bette Midler is Great for upbeat stuff also.

I don't have an ipod but what is currently in the CD player is - BNL, The Killers and Tragically Hip....I do like Collective Soul's fairly new one and have always like Madonna. I love anything with a beat - no rap or country. We're about the same age - what do you like ?
